Philosophy of this Documentation
This documentation is designed to help you know what is special and different about the UT Stonebranch instance and how to integrate with UT-specific services. This documentation is not meant to be a replacement for the Stonebranch Manual. The Peer Group Slack channel is a place for Stonebranch discussion and is an excellent resource.

Before You Begin
Stonebranch can schedule work, but it can't do the work for you — you'll need to pick an execution platform before you begin. A common good service such as the Mainframe and UT CMP are examples of execution platforms; you can also requisition a virtual machine and install the Stonebranch Agent on it yourself. If you're unsure which approach is best for you, reach out to the Stonebranch stewards for a consult.
Next Steps
Now that you have an execution platform to run tasks on and a defined business process, consider the following steps.
- Use Stonebranch's Video Classroom to get started with the basics. Links to the Video Classroom and Stonebranch documentation can be found in the (Stonebranch) Training and Stonebranch Resource wiki space.
- Stonebranch has three environments available to develop, test for quality, and finally to run in production the tasks required to automate your process. All consumers will get access to all three environments. Read more about them here: (Stonebranch) Available Environments.
- Once you've reviewed that you can submit a request for access to the service here (Stonebranch) Getting Started: Request Access to Service and the Service Provider Team will provision you.
- If you're running your own execution environment, you'll need to install the Stonebranch Agent and have the stewards connect it to the controller. Instructions will vary based on OS and can be found in this "Getting Started" section. This installation isn't necessary if you're using a common good execution platform such as UT CMP.
